The world of cinematography is as vast as it is diverse. To the point that we could each pursue our own careers and never meet most of our colleagues... It is therefore important for us to create an association helping us to meet, exchange views, and communicate with other european and international associations. In other words, to provide a forum for discussion and promotion of our professional activity. The A.F.C.F. is neither a trade union nor just a simple directory. It brings together all image technicians who have chosen, whether temporarily or permanently, to be camera operators and who intend to promote and defend this craft wherever it is practised..
	Formerly, camera operators where known as " Second Operators ". This title defined our specific function very accurately :   "Seconding" the Director of Photography, we assist him in both technical and artistic tasks, free him from a part of his duties, thus leaving him more time to spend on purely creative considerations.   "Seconding" the Director, we assist him in the essential transition from the written words to the image, giving shape to his desires in ensuring their technical execution.
	The directory of this site will contain member's C.V.s together with the names of directors and directors of photography with whom they have collaborated.
	In our opinion, this is the best illustration of the close and fruitful collaboration that has always existed.
